Dear Friends of Mount Saint Agnes Theological Center for Women, Having once more observed the rhythms of Advent together, we await with heightened expectation the arrival of Christmas. It has been very gratifying to see the Advent programs draw women out of what has become a frantic time in our culture and into quietly intense prayer and reflection on the meaning of this special day. As always, the great feast of the Incarnation fills our hearts with gratitude. We would like here to acknowledge some of the blessings for which we give profound thanks. Our Board of Trustees, chaired by Susan Spence, and comprised of Sister Helen Marie Burns, Kiri Cardegna, Amy Freeman, Sister Louise Lears, Sister Rosalind Picot, Carol Smith and the two of us, has worked intensely this year, giving extra time and energy to the development of a strategic plan to take MSATCW into the future. We were assisted by Deborah Redmond of the Soho Group, who ably guided the process. Our gratitude to these leaders knows no bounds. Benefactions have been poured on us. Most of the donors want to remain anonymous and we don't want to begin naming anyone else here. Suffice it to say that the generosity we have known in the past year has lifted hearts and made dreaming possible. The new collaboration with St. Ignatius Church and the continuing one with the Institute for Christian Jewish Studies have been a real boon to us. At the same time, we have been able to put some of the things learned here at the service of the Sisters of Mercy and some of our sister sponsored institutions. The circle keeps widening as mutual relationships are formed and sustained. Each class here begins with a remembrance of any intentions brought to us. In that way, we are aware that many of you have suffered losses, come through illnesses and experienced other life changes—some of which are joyful! Please continue to let us know how things are with you, as well as what you would like to see us do and be. Our door is open, should those of you far away find your way to it. May your life, like that of Mary, make space for the uncontained God. And may our God shower you with Christmas blessings,
