In her lecture, Sister Mary Aquin relates and draws connections between theology and the community of the Sisters of Mercy. She first includes an overview of early notions of community within the church, and follows that section with an examination of how one's theological pursuits lead to a better understanding of community identity. Mary Aquin offers the idea that the Mercy community specifically, rests on the principles of mutual love and charity.
